David is currently consulting to the mining and business community focussing on due diligence and shorter term assignments drawing on his over 38 years experience in the resource sector.

Previously, David as Chief Operating Officer, developed a Coal Resources Division in a Malaysian Power Utility including the green field Coal Mine development to feed a New Mine Mouth Power Plant.  David previously covered multiple Australian and International projects through Snowden Mining Industry Consultants including leading the North American Consulting business for a year.

Prior to Snowden David had been developing coal projects in Mozambique with Riversdale Mining and Rio Tinto Coal Mozambique.

His diverse experience also covers a range of commodities and business positions with extensive operational, project development and corporate development achievements.

During his career, David has worked in underground hard rock mines at Mount Isa and in Western Australia prior to holding senior positions with BHP Billiton corporate in roles including global multi-site benchmarking, operational excellence and business integration during BHP’s merger with Billiton and the acquisition of WMC.

David was the General Manager of a successful open-cut coal mine in Central Queensland prior to taking senior project management roles with BHP’s Base Metals Cannington Mine and Metallurgical Coal group where he worked with Project Development and Business Development groups to deliver growth projects.
